Partnerships
The following foundations, centers or agencies in the United States and Russia are in the partnership supporting the Balashikha Project.

UNITED STATES
  • Future of Russia Foundation
The Future of Russia Foundation was created in August 2001 as an American based not-for-profit 501C3 foundation by Tom and Ann Murray of Sandusky, Ohio. The mission of the Future of Russia Foundation is to help Russia build a modern, sustainable health care delivery system for women and infants focused on reducing maternal and infant mortality.

  • World Health Organization Collaborating Center in Reproductive Health (WHO/CC/RH)
The WHO/CC/RH was created in 1981 in Atlanta as a joint effort of three Atlanta institutions to address the problems of excessive infant mortality in the State of Georgia: the Woodruff Health Sciences Center of Emory University, the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Georgia Department of Human Resources. In 1982, the Collaborating Center was asked by WHO-Geneva to function as one of its global resource centers in the broad area of reproductive health and perinatal care -- thus the name, the WHO Collaborating Center in Reproductive Health.

Over the past 20 years, the WHO/CC/RH has had extensive experience in improving the outcomes of pregnancy (decreasing maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity) in some 30 countries. In the recent past, there has been a significant focus and experience gained from consultations and projects provided to countries with command and/or new emerging market economies. This includes five republics in the former Soviet Union-Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation; two Eastern Block countries-Poland and Romania; Cuba; and China.

  • Rotary Club of Atlanta

  • General Electric Company
In January 2004, the General Electric Company agreed to partner with the Future of Russia Foundation. The goal of this partnership is to elevate the equipment and information technology of the antenatal clinic, birthing suites, and nursery of the MRPC to modern standards, permitting implementation of the new medical practices being taught.
